By now, many of you in New York, and even some visiting Mug Club members from NYBP Orlando have reported sightings from Route 219 in Orchard Park where the newest project for New York Beer Project is in full swing. Lots of thirsty folks have been asking questions about the new Brewery, and the wait is OVER! Over the next few months, we’ll let you in on all the wildly wonderful details of what will be brewing inside and outside those glorious walls!
People thought we were nuts! During construction we had so many people come up to us and say “Breweries this size belong in a big city like Buffalo. Nobody will come to Lockport!” Well, after 4 parking lot expansions, and new seating areas added such as the beautiful NYBP Boathouse to accommodate beer drinkers looking to chill with friends and family - the OG location in Lockport just celebrated 8 years of Good Beer, Good Food and Good Times!
Let’s see – where to start? The New York Beer Project began almost 10 years ago when owners Kevin and Kelly Krupski decided to bring a Brewery to the town of Lockport NY. It was built new – to look like an old brewing facility in the warehouse district of New York City.
New York Beer Project Lockport was supposed to be a “one and done,” but Rochester’s legendary developer Fred Rainaldi asked NYBP to bring the Lockport Brewery into the city’s suburb of lovely Victor NY right across from the Eastview Mall. NYBP Victor - which was recently named the 2023 Victor Restaurant Retailer of the year - just celebrated it’s 4 year Anniversary of providing Good Beer, Good Food and Good Times to Central NY!
With a totally different look than that of its sister property, this gorgeous Brewery was built to look like the Atlantic Garden Beer Hall on Bowery Street in Manhattan, complete with Chestnut trees and gorgeous chandeliers similar to those in the historic beer halls of NYC circa 1850!
Due to increased beer demand, Victor’s brewing operations have been temporarily moved back to Lockport’s mothership and eventually will be brewed at the larger Orchard Park Production Brewery. To satisfy the surge in requests for event spaces to celebrate parties, birthdays, showers, corporate events, and small weddings, NYBP Victor has transformed the former brewery floor into the beautiful new event room know as The Cask Room @ NYBP Victor
Our third location, which has been open for over a year, is about 2 miles from Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida, and is a beautiful blend of the first two locations - the exterior of Lockport and the interior of Victor!
Complete with a 15 bbl brewery viewable from the hoppin’ Tap Room, in addition to the impressive video wall and our fun loving Tap Tenders who introduce you to all our new beer releases from Head Brewer Sean Hamilton - this IS the place to be for beer tasting, and every sports event throughout the year (and trivia, and hospitality night, and Mug Club Tuesdays, etc.) We also have our beautiful gastropub with views of the fireworks every night, our signature Chestnut trees and 3 of the most gorgeous event spaces you’ve ever seen!
People ask us all the time – “why Orlando?” Um – please refer to the picture on the right. Plus, there are so many friends – snowbirds from Western New York who love to visit, and the wonderful communities who surround us, and needed some “Good Beer, Good Food and Good Times!”
OK – we all want to know – what about NYBP OP?
We promise to send SO MANY amazing deets and insider info to NYBP Nation in the upcoming months, so sign up for our exclusive NYBP Lodge Newsletter HERE so you can stay up to date with all the exciting behind-the-scenes info to come!
Our biggest production brewery - NYBP OP - will have its own unique theme that is completely different from the three existing breweries which we’ll talk about soon. We’ll obviously be featuring a lot of the award winning beers that we serve at all three of these totally unique Breweries, but we are beyond stoked that NYBP OP will have something completely unique to Western New York - the NYBP Koelschip, (more on that in another insider blast) that will help our Head Brewer (more on that next week) produce spontaneously fermented beers like lambics and wild ales, found only in select North American Breweries, and in Beer-centric cities in Europe.
Of course, the question that we get asked the most is “When are you opening?” Well, I’ll tell you – I don’t know. The team at Genesee Construction and all their wonderful sub-contractors as well as Hanlon Architects are really doing their absolute best to help us open the doors to this his amazing venue, but I’m sure you’ve witnessed first hand, or by watching the Bill’s games – Orchard Park has been literally been the bullseye of the lake effect snow machine big time! Between driving bans, and never-ending snow bands, never fear - we’re still trying to get the Good Beer, Good Food and Good Times to the Southtowns by summer. Until next week, Cheers!
Until next week...Cheers!
